When we talk of traditions in Spain we can find great variety, especially in the Costa Blanca.
One of our beautiful towns in the Marina Alta is called Denia and holds the most surprising and exciting traditions called ” Las Fallas”. During this festivity you can enjoy all sorts of events that combine music, colour, parades, fireworks and more. These will go on for 2 weeks so you can imagine how much fun this can be to visit. (programme will be available at the tourism office).
But we would like to give you a few tips that can be very useful.
If you are going to drive your own car you are able to park at several different car parks, public and private ones of course, with different prices. This could become quite expensive if you decide to spend all day there. So maybe you prefer to take a taxi or use public transport. This is surely the best way as many of their streets are cut off during this festivity. Denia is quite well communicated with all surrounding towns, such as Jávea, Gata, Pedreguer or Jesus Pobre.
Also if you wish to eat at any of their wonderful restaurants we suggest you book the table previously as you might find yourself wandering around forever and when travelling with kids that´s all you need!!
And very important!!! remember to take your kids stroller, even though he or she is over 3, as this is absolutely necessary when you are speding all day out enjoying it all. This can make everything so much easier!!! we all know how kids get when they are tired. This might seem quite logical but sometimes we tend to makes thing simple not wanting to carry to much stuff so we leave it at home.
There’s also a lovely castle you can visit with beautiful views over the town and port.
There are actually many more things to do, like shopping in the main street “Carrer Campos”. Great selection of boutiques , cafes and restaurants that will make your day, but this blog is focused on tradition, shopping can be one of course, hahaha,, but the “Fallas”, ohhh these will mesmerize you with their shine, their charm, their warmth, their music, and their people!!
Nothing like traditions, specially our ” fiestas ” to seduce you and make you want to come and visit us again.
Next, our incredible Easter holidays!!!Back soon!!!
